Male Cable
How do I tell the difference between a male and female D-Sub cable?
I need to buy a d-sub cable for my flat panel monitor and I’m not sure if I need a male/male or what. I need the cable that has the actual 15 pins on both ends to plug into the ports with the 15 holes on the monitor and computer. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense; that’s the best I can explain it. Which is male and which is female? Do I need a male/male cord then?
Male connectors always have pins.
Female connectors have holes or slots.
Computer > Video Device = Male/Male cable.
A video extension cable is Male/Female.
